Talent Search 2008!

The rules and entry procedures of the contest are as follows:

Phase 1

The entry fee is $50 for phase one (this will cover up to three songs (no less than 2) on CD or cassette, and two photos). Please select a variety of songs, not all slow or all fast. We want to hear a variety. One of the photos must be a head shot and the other must be a full length shot.
All entries must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2008. Entries that have not reached us before April 15, 2008 are not eligible. We are not responsible for entries that are lost in the mail.
None of the CDs, cassettes or photos will be returned.
Professional and home recordings are accepted.
By entering this competition, you are giving us permission to use any part of your entry for future promotions, advertising, or uploading on our website. The release form must be printed, signed and included with the entry in order to be eligible.
Artists who are or have been on a major label are not eligible to enter the contest. MMGI staff and their families, or those artists and groups who are currently on the artist roster for MMGI are not eligible to enter. Previous CCMNI talent search 1st place winners are not eligible to enter.
Semi-finalists will be notified via e-mail no later than May 15, 2008.

Once the semi-finalists are selected and notified, we will proceed to phase 2.

Phase 2

There is no entry fee for phase 2. However, you must be selected from phase 1 to advance as a semi-finalist.
All semi-finalists will then submit a video of themselves performing up to three songs on stage. A camcorder may be used to video your performance. We just want to see your stage presence. The stage performance can be in front of an audience or without an audience (your choice). Performances can be with live instruments or soundtracks.
CCMNI must receive the video no later than June 15, 2008. If the video has not reached us by the deadline, your entry will be disqualified.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be notified no later than August 1, 2008. Once the winners are notified, we will then announce the winners on our website and with an e-mail update.

A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be selected based on appearance, stage presence, song selection, originality, tone, pitch, rhythm, diction and marketability.

Two Ways to Enter Phase 1:

Option 1: Entering Through Regular Mail

Send up to three songs (no less than 2 songs) on CD or cassette along with at least two photos of the artist to the address below. If there are more than three songs on the CD or cassette, please let us know which songs you are submitting.
Please send a check, money order or cashier's check for $50 in US funds made payable to MMGI along with your entry.
Print the release form, fill it out completely and send with your submission.

Option 2: Entering Online

E-mail us with a link to your Website, MySpace Profile, Shoutlife Profile, or any other online resource that would have soundclips and photos. If you don't have a website, you may also enter by e-mailing your MP3's and photos.
Once we receive your submission, we will send you a payment request via PayPal.com to pay for your $50 entry fee.
Once we receive your submission, we will also send you the release information to reply to. You must send in the release information before your entry is eligible.

When the semi-finalists are notified via e-mail, directions for entering phase 2 will be included in the e-mail.
